Dubai Land

Dubai Land Area is a massive residential development and hotspot by Dubai Properties. It was initially proposed as a 2 billion sq. ft. plan encompassing all residential, commercial and entertainment components as expected from any real estate project in Dubai. Today, Dubai Land sprawls across 3 million sq. ft., divided into several districts including Al Habtoor Polo Resort & Club, Dubai Land Oasis, Layan, Majan, Falcon City of Wonders, Living Legends, Villanova, Rukan, Tiger Woods and Al Waha. The community has a lot to offer as development is in process for many other multi-billion dirham projects like DAMAC Hills. It won’t be wrong to say that Dubai Land is a city within Dubai, home to a theme park, polo club, hotels and a wide range of accommodation plans.

The development of Dubai Land area was heavily affected by the economic downturn with the development being suspended in 2008 and the construction only resuming in 2013.

During the construction not all Dubai Land projects were completed according to the original plan. Some of them turned out to be so popular that they were separated from the area and promoted as individual communities, like Dubai Sports City, Dubai Motor City, and Arabian Ranches. The same trend is reflected in residential areas such as Mudon and Silicon Oasis.

As of 2015, around AED 202B was invested in the development of Dubailand. But even with such impressive funding, the execution of a number of projects, such as Pharaohs Theme Park or Six Water Parks had to be abandoned, as well as other developments, such as Legoland and DreamWorks Studio Theme Park which were moved to other areas.
